About Us
Saluki Formula Racing is a student-led organization at Southern Illinois University within the College of Engineering, consisting of approximately twenty members. We are a group of highly motivated students brought together by a passion for motorsports.
Each year, we work to produce a highly competitive open-wheel race car for Formula SAE, an intercollegiate competition attended by teams from top universities around the world. Each vehicle is conceived, designed, and fabricated completely from scratch- all while adhering to over 140 pages of technical rules. This allows us to step outside of the classroom and put our engineering education to work on a real-world project with measurable results.
We are open to graduate and undergraduate students of all majors. Formula SAE is a great learning opportunity, and no prior background experience is necessary. Scroll to the bottom of the page to send us a message with any questions!
